HOW TO USE
Nutritional Yeast is a supplement to add cheese flavours to any vegan or vegetarian dish. Add it to soups, stir-fries, dips, spreads or as seasoning for salads, vegetables and rice.
GROWING & PROCESSING
Nutritional yeast flakes are produced through the fermentation of the species Sarrcharomyces cerevisiae on molasses.
The yeast is grown on a nutrient rich media containing several vitamins and minerals and during the growth phase the yeast may take up several vitamins and minerals present in the media. Some vitamins and minerals can remain present in the final product after the yeast is inactivated, however, these vitamins and minerals are not strictly added to the yeast. Please note, due to this, the vitamins and minerals present in the final product are not classified as separate or stand-alone ingredients, however you can see the nutritional information of the nutritional yeast on the More Information tab.
It is harvested, washed, “inactivated” and rolled into dried flakes.
