‘Chai Tea’ is a crowd favourite where you simply brew the tea in a teapot or cup with boiling water. When it comes to ‘Chai Latte’ however, rather than using a chai powder or syrup, you can use Zoetic Infusions Chai tea to make an amazing cup of organic Chai Latte. The crushed spices and CTC Assam tea will ensure you get a strong latte brew. Yum!
Add two teaspoons of Zoetic Infusions Chai Tea to your milk frothing jug. It is advisable to have a separate jug especially for making chai lattes because of the strong flavours.
Add some boiling water to cover the chai leaves and stir with a spoon to begin the infusion. TIP: Leave longer for a stronger infusion, or simply add more chai.
Add your choice of milk to your jug (approximately 250ml). We recommend using soy milk as it complements the taste of the chai.
Heat and texture the milk with a wand or milk frother to approximately 65°C.
Stir and strain through into your serving glass or cup.
Add sweetener if desired. TIP: Add a viscous sweetener such as maple syrup in step 2 for a better mix.
For presentation, sprinkle the chai latte with cinnamonand/or nutmegand serve. TIP: Top with latte froth if so required.
Milk Alternative:
If you do not wish to use the brewed chai with the espresso machine wand or milk frother, use this method.
Put two teaspoons of Zoetic Infusions Chai tea in a separate jug and add boiling water to cover. Infuse for 2- 3 minutes (or longer as per taste) and strain to the bottom of your serving glass or cup. Prepare latte milk as per steps 3 and 4 and add to your serving glass or cup. Finish with steps 6 and 7.
Iced Chai Latte:
For an iced chai latte, allow the mixture to cool and then pour over ice cubes in a tall glass. For presentation, sprinkle on top with cinnamon and/or nutmeg and serve.
