Not all vanilla essences are created equal, try using our Organic Vanilla Beans - Planifolia Grade A to make your own pure vanilla extract!
Note: Use leftover pods from your recipes where you needed to scrape out the seeds.
Caution: recipe contains alcohol, keep out of reach of tiny hands!
DESCRIPTION
Split the Vanilla Beans lengthways and cut so they fit into your jar. We suggest using a thin tall container, so the alcohol covers the beans (our Ghee jar is a great fit!).
Add the alcohol, seal and shake.
Store in a dark area for 4 weeks, shaking the jar a few times each week.
The flavours will become more complex overtime, you can simply top up the alcohol level when it dips below the pods, allowing you to brew another batch of essence ready to use in 4 week's time.
