Wild vs Farmed
The organic certification system is one of the most advanced and long-established frameworks for environmentally responsible agriculture. While it is sometimes criticised, it remains a strong and trusted standard.
Around 50% of the world’s seafood for human consumption comes from aquaculture (farmed seafood). At present, all of our seafood is wild-caught. As organic certification applies to farming, wild-caught seafood cannot be labelled organic by definition.
